Kids at Christmas

Christmas 2007 - North Dakota! Well, I made my final trip to North Dakota for the holiday season!!!! My parents are relocating in May, officially making it my last holiday in Bismarck! :( I just couldn't resist seeing these little ones. Grace, Jacob and Kaylin are getting cuter by the day. My only regret is I wish I got to spend more time with them. They grow up so fast!!

i got meself a job

And this is where I work........ they are in the process of tearing down the building that is attached to mine. I sway all day - back and forth - and sometimes I bounce - downright frightful at times. projected end date is 2009 - i don't believe it... Today they gave us a $50 gift card and two paid work hours to go use it at the mall.... As long the gifts giving keeps up I think this relationship should work - pics that are up close are taken from the elevator lobby - orange julius anyone....?

Cari went to Cali

So i finally got an invitation to visit the Saltsmans in their new, soon to be previous home!!!!!!! The Hoppers were making the trip and I just couldn't miss a chance to hang out with my fellow belmonts and their significants.

Lizzie and Mike took us on a wonderful sightseeing car tour of Pebble Beach and I learned a lot about trees. For instance - the Lone Cypress - is held up by wires because it was struck by lightening. They are currently growing a duplicate in some duplicating tree lab somewhere........

so that was during the day.......

Our night life was a bit more child-like.

We played the 1..2..3.. game.... for those of you who would like to play here are the detailed rules.......

1. you will need someone with a camera
2. the photographer says 1..2..3.. and calls out an animal.
3. the other participants sit on the other side of the camera and come up with the animals face or body movements as quickly as possible.....
1..2..3.. Hippo above

1..2..3.. Mosquito

Here are Mike and Josh doing the 1..2..3.. sea otter

1..2..3.. Gazelle

As you can see some are more obvious than others. Lizzie thought animal, I thought Gisele (the model) and Valecia.....hmmmm not sure....

But it was a fantastic time, works on reflexes, brain power, and imagination..... A great game for all ages.... Appropriate for all ages?? sure - why not?

We found our own Mary

Ya know how Salt Lake City has the Mary tree

This is the Larry tree.
- it is in Nate's backyard if you would like to stop by with flowers or to light a candle. Just watch out for falling apples...

A special thanks to the Saltsmans for this special gift.

is a corn maze corny?

Nate and I went to our first corn maze last night. We paid the extra two dollars to get into the scary part - that wasn't all that scary - except for the masked man who was carrying a chainsaw that would not leave us alone. He kinda got to me after a bit. Accidents do happen and I am pretty attached to my limbs. I was reading the headlines in my head............. But it wasn't that haunted....

This is me being scared - Nate is laughing at me being scared.....

The actual Corn Maze-

We had our little map with the 10 numbers to make sure that you hit all points of the maze. The maze was no match for Nate. I had no idea where we were and tried to keep answering the clue questions (i was still no help). Nate got us through until the number eight and then he told me I had to get us out of there. After we passed the Waste Management company, I realized that I wasn't going to get us out alive and relinquished my leadership to Nate. And in the end we made it out and got three free bowling passes to Fat Catz - which i wanted to use right away (you see, i had printed $1.00 off coupons for the maze, so i wanted to make it the Night of Couponing) - but Nate said no.
But i did get to eat some free corn......

Wasatch Back

The Wasatch Back is a part of the Ragnar Relay which sponspors relay races throughout the year in various places. The Wasatch ack is 176.7 mile trek from Logan to Park City, Utah. The teams comprised of twelve members each running three legs. And these are the players before we knew what was in store....
My boss, Curt and his wife ran and somehow I got invited me to join the team..
This was during my first leg - it was the hottest day of the year so far at about 1:00 in the afternoon with no shade in sight. I ran through the country on black asphault. It was not my favorite...
But we all made it in one piece. We finished in just over 25 hours and had an absolute blast. I ran over 15 miles and ended up losing a toenail, but other than that - it was amazing and I can't wait to do it again.
